PLANNING FOR THE FUTURE

A crying need in current times has been identified as the need for the establishment of homes or hostels that cater to the needs of the intellectually impaired. Many in this category are forced into the care of siblings and relatives at the time of the demise of parents or lifetime guardians. This unfortunately does not always work out well, and can put undue pressure on the families involved. It is the fond hope of the CCSE to be able to establish such a venture under the same management, which will be run on the same theme as the Training centre. Providing a ‘HOME’ from which students can come to ‘School’ at the Centre and return to in the afternoon. Several members of the current student cadre have reached the age when parents are no more there to look after them. The CCSE is on the lookout for premises and funding to make such a dream a reality.

In five years time the CCSE plans to be,

*Running a fully fledged hostel facility with room for at least ten students.

*A model Training Centre for the intellectually impaired, helping in the establishment of similar centre’s around the island.

*Able to publish case studies with success stories based on experiences and the result of work done in the Centre.

*Building awareness of the CCSE among members of the Corporate world in Sri Lanka and so give them the opportunity to partner in the cause of Special Needs

 

 OUR GOAL  

 

To help mould happy and contented persons, who leave the CCSE each day mentally and physically enhanced by our efforts, and to give them confidence to feel that they can play a productive role in their lives outside the Centre, and in society at large

OUR AIM

Is to be a Centre of excellence in caring for the otherwise abled, and thus be a role model for replication.
